This 50 page 81/2 by 11 booklet with 30 photos details the dramatic events surrounding the making of John Calvert's original 1957 movie 'Dark Venture.' The legendary showman, actor and stage illusionist par excellence re-edited his film staring Calvert, Ann Cornell, John Carradine and Charles Hayden. He color enhanced the scenic views with animals in the heart of a then unspoiled Africa, added an introduction by David Carradine and allowed himself and Ann Cornell to be seen at the end of his film as having aged in real time.

The booklet tells of the many trials and tribulations of actually making the film in Africa. It is a further insight into the exciting life of John Calvert. Photos show Calvert the pilot, hunter, movie maker and magician. Additional photos show John Calvert and Ann Cornell in 1953 and today. The remarkable and greatly admired John Calvert, along with his wife Tammy, is still performing, lecturing and touring in a 60 foot motor home at the energetic age of 90. When he is not on the road he resides on his yacht, Magic Castle.
