There is a full description on the stage spectacular with historical insights on the history of magic and the role of 'magician' in society. The author probes the personality of Cesareo Pelaez, founder of this opulent production and the genius of his creative ability to coordinate and create the long running show that first debuted on February 20, 1977. The production still continues with rave reviews and has become an icon not only in the world of magic but also in theater history. The Guinness Book of World Records in 1999 recognized Le Grand David as, "The Longest Running Resident Stage Magic Production / Show" in the world for its string of continuous performances, spanning over twenty-two years on stage at the Cabot Street Theater in Beverly, Massachusetts.

The Le Grand David Co. has produced four books detailing the history of the development and now owns two theaters in Beverly, Massachusetts. The Foreword for the 1998 volume: 'Variedades' was written by Wm. V. Rauscher who shares his views of a friendship with the founder and the company since 1980.
